Monday, November 21: 3:00-5:00pm
Wednesday, November 23: 2:00-4:00pm
Friday, November 25: 11:00am-1:00pm
Saturday, November 26: 4:00-7:00pm

Acclaimed as one of our most popular attractions of the night, The Gingerbread House Contest is full of culinary surprises! This event is a great way for the whole family to get involved in the evening or just appreciate the craftsmanship of others. The contest will be hosted by Simsbury Celebrates Planning Committee. All entries will be on display in the Boy Scout Hall (695 Hopmeadow Street) during the week of November 20 and on the evening of Simsbury Celebrates, Saturday, November 26, 2011.

The contest has several categories:
1. Youth
2. Teen
3. Adult
4. Family
5. Group/team 
6. Professional (reserved for restaurants, bakeries and caterers)
 
Entrants can be individuals or groups. The professional category is for display purposes only and is not eligible for the cash prize. The number of entries will be limited to 65. Entries do not have to be holiday related and creativity is strongly encouraged. Think outside of the box, if you so desire. Gingerbread house kits are also acceptable for those who wish to be challenged in a more structured manner. All entries will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis, with priority given to Simsbury Residents, and applications must be postmarked by November 16, 2011.

The judging will be done by a local culinary professionals. NEW this year: All houses/creations have the option to be raffled off to the public with proceeds going to help defray costs of Simsbury Celebrates! or be taken home on Sunday, November 27. Category winners will be announced at the Fireworks display on Saturday, November 26, the evening of Simsbury Celebrates!
